What you need

For the following paper crafts, you need:

Now, let’s jump right in with a crowd favourite:

Moving Caterpillar

What you need:

The magic of the Moving Caterpillar has no equal. With a single paper strip and a straw, you can create a caterpillar that moves in less than 2 minutes! It requires folding a paper strip to create a rectangle, opening it out and blowing on it. Simples.

Superhero Cuffs

What you need:

  • Coloured card or toilet tube and coloured paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Stapler
  • Decorations

With nothing more than rolled up card and decorations, your kid can create superhero cuffs the Avengers would be proud of. We recommend using card you can roll up rather than a toilet paper tube because all arms are different.

Drawing family handprints onto pieces of coloured paper, cutting them out and stacking them together to create peacock feathers sounds as good as it looks! The Joy Sharing has a great tutorial for this paper craft that anyone can do.

Paper Aeroplane (that flies!)

What you need:

  • Coloured paper
  • Decorations (optional)

Every kid should know how to make an awesome paper aeroplane that flies. The technique here is the tried and tested A4 sheet of paper folded over. After folding, you can add decorations like glitter and window drawings.

Paper Heart Penguin

What you need:

  • Black, white and orange paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Googly eyes (optional, you can also make eyes with paper)

Children love penguins, so why not make one or a family of them? All you need is black, white and orange paper, scissors, glue and googly eyes. This paper craft is easy, and it makes a fantastic gift card or souvenir for a desk.

Toilet Tube Octopus

What you need:

  • Toilet tube, or coloured card
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Googly eyes and decorations

The toilet tube octopus is a paper craft legend. You can make it with a toilet tube or with a piece of card folded to make a tube – all you need to do is take a sheet of coloured card, fold it to make a tube, and cut eight legs at the bottom to make the body.

There we have it!
